Vingmed Danmark A/S returns to the Vingmed Group
Vingmed Holding AS is acquiring all shares in Danish medtech company Vingmed Danmark A/S. The company, which left the Vingmed Group at the end of the 1980s, is now rejoining the Nordic region’s largest independent medtech group. “Through this takeover, we are strengthening our offer on the Danish market and becoming an even more interesting partner in the Nordic region,” says Bengt Malmfält, CEO of Vingmed Holding AS.
As part of the deal, the Vingmed Group’s Danish company ViCare Medical A/S will merge with Vingmed Danmark A/S. The companies’ product portfolios complement each other well and the new organisation is getting greater resources to meet the healthcare sector’s ever-higher demands for service, support and delivery capacity.
Expanded range of products and services
Niels Frandsen, the former owner (via NF Invest A/S) of Vingmed Danmark A/S, has been appointed Managing Director of the merged company. “Niels and his colleagues will be a great asset in the ongoing development of our Danish business operations. Joining forces will give us greater resources, a wider product range, and improved service and delivery capacity. In short, we will be an even better partner for the Danish healthcare sector,” reports Bengt Malmfält.
The fusion of the two companies is expected to take place in Q1 2019, but Vingmed Danmark will be moving into ViCare’s premises in Birkerød, north of Copenhagen, as early as June. Vingmed Danmark’s Swedish subsidiary Medical Partner (Medpoint AB) will be integrated with Vingmed AB in Sweden.

Vingmed Danmark A/S started in 1974 in cooperation with its Norwegian counterpart Vingmed AS. In 1988, the company was bought out from the Vingmed Group.
